I get asked this question an awful lot. Usually, I don't know what to say. The person asking the question is just looking for a number to see if they can "afford" it. Here is my answer: "I have a question for you. - What does a new car cost?" You may think that is a silly question to ask back, and maybe evasive as well, but if you were to ask a car salesman that question, he would look at you with a very puzzled look. The reason? Cars cost anywhere from $1,000.00 - 500,000.00. What do you want? Do you want a Toyota or a Ferrari? Do you want all the options or stripped down? V6 or V8? Red or blue? CD player or just a radio? My point is that there are as many options available to you for your central a/c system as there are cars and options to choose from. You can have a very basic "low end" system or you can have the "top of the line" system with every bell and whistle out there. What do you want? This is why there is no such thing (at this company anyway) as a "usual job". There is no average cost because each customer needs and wants different accessories, features, and benefits from different systems. This is why every system is custom built to meet and exceed the customer's expectations. The initial consultation is for finding out what is needed/wanted, then the behind-the-scenes work is done (load calc, stock list, planning, etc.) before the job is installed. Then, after that work is done, the system can be put in. This is also why it is critical to have a compotent, educated sales engineer help you choose what is right for you, not for us. It is also important to understand what you are buying. This is why we sit down with you at your kitchen table to talk about the different options. We educate you so you can make an informed decision. So - what do you want to drive? A Yugo or a Ferrari? Hint - the Ferrari of the AC world is Trane... |
